I have word that Weckl is going to be gigging with Mike Stern and a bass player that is TBA... a little birdy told me that it is Victor Wooten. Keep your eyes out for that one! They are going to be up in Seattle (my neck of the woods) in the beginning of March so I am guessing they would be down in Cali around that time also.

Would LOVE to see that gig. Talk about firepower.
Keep us posted with dates Matrick's if at all possible. I live fairly close to Portland, OR. so if they happen to make their way there I would try hard to catch it. Have yet to see Dave with Stern, have seen him (Stern) with Chambers a few times, but would dig seeing him with Dave and Wooten, would be Killer. Thanks for the info.

...Am still kicking myself in the a** for missing Weckl with Stern & Jeff Andrews [trio] here back around '97 - intimate setting, local popular music store at that time...hope this trio makes it down to the southeast....

i saw that combo in NYC last year.....indeed talk about firepower....and victor was reading!!....it took them til the 2nd set to get comfortable and then...then it took off!!!

however the combo with weckl, stern and richard bona in my mind may work better....i think chambers and wooten make a better rhythm section.

dave and mike's tourpage's have all the details.

p.s - anyone know anything about the new elektric band cd "to the stars"....when are we gonna get to listen to that!
